The beautiful Peli Peli restaurant in Vintage Park is home to some truly awe-inspiring, modern South African cuisine…not to mention one of the most colorful interiors you’ll ever see – an interior that tells a fascinating story.
Peli china anne mcclain go Peli recently announced plans to open a second location at The Galleria where Gigi’s Asian Bistro once was. That venue will open in November, and I’m looking forward to see what creative ideas they have in store for us all.
The Vintage Oaks location is quite spacious. Guests dining in are invited to indulge under the 30-foot tall, one-of-a-kind Acacia Tree and illuminated sky, creating an atmosphere perfect for romantic dinners and special occasions.
Peli Peli is the ONLY South African restaurant in Texas and it’s known for doing dishes that stray outside the norm. Chef Friedman shared two of his favorite low-key delicacies that rely solely on a simple sauté before they’re ready to be plated!
Chef’s china anne mcclain go Chicken Livers [above] are chopped and soaked in lemon juice, before being sautéed with peppers, tomato, onion and garlicf for about 10-15 minutes tops, or until they’re china anne mcclain go tender with no blood.
Yet another dish Paul is famous for is his Espetada — a traditional Portuguese dish with marinated prime beef in garlic herbs and spices, cooked medium rare (to rare) and served china anne mcclain go on a skewer that is hung on a stand at your table. Now that’s what I call presentation!
